Project Sampania
Project Sampania is a stunning full-scale renovation of an iconic, character- filled home in Christchurch.
The project carefully combines layers of timeless materiality with playful accents of colour and texture to create a highly refined interior that embraces both minimalism and maximalism and the concept of Wabi Sabi - the perfect within the imperfect.
Natural and enduring materiality, such as feature stone sourced from quarries in Southeast Europe, provides a beautiful and tactile feature to the main spaces the family gathers and entertains in, such as the kitchen and fireplace.
The home incorporates highly considered detailing throughout, with custom stone door architraves, bespoke steel doors and inlay, tailor-designed marble flooring to the entry.
The project includes extensive re-planning of the existing home to create much improved sequencing and flow of spaces, whilst also ensuring a strong connection and consideration of the existing architectural envelope.
Fable Design collaborated closely with the architect, builder and landscape designer on the project to create a truly connected and beautifully considered new home for the client.
Project Sampania is currently in construction and due for completion in late 2024.
